[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

Video of Esmé dab-dab-dabing glitter nail polish onto the back of her bunny beads. I taught her to dab on the polish so more glitter would adhere to the surface. She  strung the beads shown on the floor, and chose the yarn (and paid for it!) herself.

Today’s gem:

Esmé: Me want chicken ice cream.

Lukas: Trust me when I say _no one_ wants chicken ice cream.

Esmé (earnestly, with hand gently placed on chest): _I_ want chicken ice cream.

Esmé is now 2 and a half. Today’s gems:
While playing with her friend Alessio, who pulled out a caterpillar toy.
Me: What’s that?
E: Caddderpillaaaar!
A: No. Lion.
E: Alessio, me think it caterpillar.
A: No, is lion!
E: (turning to me) Mommy, me having tension with Alessio.
Haaaahaaa! Hilarious girl. Where did she learn the word tension??
Later, at bedtime, while discussing the difficult brushing-of-the-teeth event:
Me: Let’s brush your teeth on the bed.
E: Can we brush them on the stairs?
Me: Let’s brush them here in the bedroom, and if you really don’t like it, then we can brush them on the stairs.
E: No, we brush them on the stairs. If it doesn’t work, then we can brush them on the bed.
*sigh* Aaaanndddd, that’s how 2 year olds develop logic skills.

MRS KASOOGI

Esmé loves Mrs Kasooooooooooooogiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, her Uglydoll which I pretend is going to steal all of Esmé’s cookies.  Clearly, Auntie -k is an excellent gift giver.  I have no idea what is attractive about a bit of orange stuffed felt, but it makes baby smile every time.

Other than Mrs Kasoogi, Esmé loves the following toys:

1) Mr Wipes! (the current package of wipes in use)

2) Bottle-ina (my current plastic bottle of Evian or Coke, full or empty)

3) Any small box made of card, such as a cookie box, baby medicine box, etc.  Hard plastic packaging is interesting too.  As is junk mail (yum).

4) my iPhone (she’s so quick to grab it!)

Lol…for the most part, garbage = fun!

ESMÈ AND THE MINTED PEAS

FOOD!

We have started giving Esmé a taste of what we’re eating.  Yesterday she tried a bit of carmelised onion and a huge green olive; she thought both were delicious.  Today, cucumber and carrot.  Not a hit, but she thought they were ok.
